Peacefully at Mayo University Hospital. 

PJ, predeceased by his wife Elizabeth, parents Martin & Clare & brother Matt.  Beloved father of PJ (Ballina), Gerry (Dublin), Jillian (Dublin), Fiona (Dublin). 

Sadly, missed by his loving sons, daughters, brothers Fr. Gerry & Eugene (New Jersey), sister Clare Gillespie (Killybegs), daughter-in-law Edel, sons-in-law Christian & Gerry, grandchildren, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

REST IN PEACE

Reposing at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina on Thursday evening from 5pm with removal at 7pm to St. Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina.

Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 11:30am followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery, Ballina.

PJ’s funeral will be live streamed on www.ballinaparish.org

    Sincere sympathies to the Gillespie family. PJ was a tremendously courageous man. Despite his illness he walked and jogged at least twice a day on the running track at Belleek and also in the wood, in all kinds of weather. May he rest in peace

    Rest in peace PJ , I am So sad for your loved ones.
    I met you on my visit to Ballina , in 1999. I was shown around by your lovely daughters Eilish and Deirdre. My visit was such a grand memory.
    My great grand father & mother were Patrick Gillespie and his wife Mary Louther.
    All my sincere condolences to the family members.
