The death has occurred of Maud McHale (née Franklin) of Lissadrone, Ballycastle, Co. Mayo peacefully at Mayo University Hospital surrounded by her family.
Maud predeceased by her husband Paddy and son Michael.
Maud deeply regretted by her family, her nephews and nieces in Ireland and America, her grand nephews and grand nieces, relatives, neighbours, and friends.
May Maud Rest in Peace.
Reposing at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina (Eircode F26 V274) on Friday evening 30th August from 8:00pm until 9:00pm.
Funeral will arrive to St. Patrick’s & St. Cuimin Church, Lacken on Saturday 31st August at 1:00pm for Requiem Mass with funeral proceeding to Lackenhill Cemetery for burial.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my cousin, Maud. She was so impressive and such a delight when my sister Maud and I visited her in Ireland. She took the time to provide us the most interesting tour complete with much local and family history. Maud took the role of family historian very seriously, for which we were most grateful. I feel certain much information will be lost with her passing.
Though we spent only a few days with Maud, she made a lasting impression on both my sister and I. Though Maud never took me up on my invitation to visit me in California, we kept in touch by exchanging Christmas cards each year. Maud was so intelligent, poised, thoughtful and beautiful. I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to meet and spend time with her. Peace and love to all who knew and cared for her.
So sorry to hear of my Aunt Maud’s passing. I will miss our phone calls and chats regarding our Franklin Family History and their existence before 1800 in Cloonalaghan. Maud will be greatly missed by all her family in the USA, Ireland and Australia.
