The death has occurred of Mary Newell (née Reilly) who passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar on Saturday 5th September 2026.
Predeceased by her parents Jimmy and Bridie Reilly, her brother Séamus “Dicey’’ Reilly, her infant son Patrick, and her cousin Freddie Maloney (née Reilly).
Beloved wife of John and dear mother to Tony (Vanessa), Johnny (Trish), Melissa (David), Gordon (Racheal), Paul (Ashling) and Kevin (Louise).
Mary will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, her husband, her sons, her daughter, her cherished 10 Grandchildren, Aoibhínn, Katelyn, Grace, Riley, Ellie, Keeva, Karli, Charlie, Daithí and Killian, her mother-in-law Patsy, the extended Newell and Reilly families, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at McGowan’s Funeral Home Ballina (Eircode F26 V274) on Tuesday evening 8th September from 5:00 until 6:30pm.
Funeral will arrive for Requiem Mass to St Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina on Wednesday morning 9th of September at 11:30am, followed by burial in Leigue Cemetery.
