The death has occurred of Irene Basquill (neé Anderson) of 10 Castle Road, Ballina, Co. Mayo.

Peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Genevieve and Bertie Anderson, Ardnaree.

Irene beloved wife of Raymond and loving mother of Ronnie (Waterford), Sandra Burke (Dublin), and Derek (Castleconnor, Co. Sligo). Sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughter, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Leona, grandchildren Tara, Rachel, Jennifer, Jason and Sean nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

May she Rest in Peace.

Reposing at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina (Eircode F26 V274) on Thursday evening 18th January 5:30 to 7:00pm.

Funeral will arrive to St. Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina on Friday morning for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.00am followed by cremation at Shannon Crematorium (Eircode V14 PV30) for Committal Service at 3pm.

  1. Sincere condolences to Ray, Derek, Ronnie & Sandra on the loss of a very special lady. I’ll never forget the great nights in the golf club when the tears flowing were ones of laughter. Sadly, now comes the tears of sadness.
    R.I.P Irene, you left an indelible mark on those of us lucky enough to have known you.

  9. Hi Ray, I want to give you deep condolence, and I in shock to hear the passing of Irene. She was a beautiful lady and reared a great family. I’m sure I am deeply sorrow by the news as we spent 10 years working together in Scanlons garage and had a lot of good times together as Bill Grimes

    the golf club or at the pier and the banter was fun. Pity did’nt have a chance to play golf with her. but Ray
